So long, 2013
This is the second to the last photograph I took this year. I will put away my camera now and rest until the new year comes - and then after that I must shoot something 'macro' for the up coming years '52 Photographs Project' I've decided to do again [okay, okay ... so I fell a wee bit behind on last years 52 project- by about 20-something weeks or so], but anyway... this is the second to the last photo I took this year - and I made sure I took it while at the beach - a place I feel most at home at than any other.
Its almost over now. 2013. Wow.
It makes me feel both happy and sad. Melancholic in a way I guess would be the perfect description of how I'm feeling today. But you know, I had a great year, very successful in many ways, and even though I did suffer a few bumps and bruises along the way, and made some mistakes and let frustration [my own personal worst enemy] get the best of me at times, I'd have to say that all in all it was a good year for me despite the fact. I think it's important to acknowledge and say, too, that I am and will always remain grateful to all those who played a part in it and in the evolvement of me. Thank you, 2013.
I thought of this quote just now while writing; its one of my favorites and seems appropriate for this time of year:
"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one’s self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived—this is to have succeeded."
—Ralph Waldo Emerson
Wishing you all a very Happy, Successful, Prosperous, Kind, Loving, Joyful New Year. Remember, its the heart that really matters in the end.
See you all next year. LOL... I love saying that. So dumb, I know. ;)
